Study of the EU-DEMO WCLL Breeding Blanket Primary Cooling Circuits Thermal-Hydraulic Performances during Transients Belonging to LOFA Category

The Breeding Blanket (BB) is one of the key components European Demonstration (EU-DEMO) fusion reactor. Its main subsystems, Breeder Zone (BZ) and First Wall (FW), are cooled by two independent cooling circuits, called Primary Heat Transfer Systems (PHTS). Evaluating BB PHTS performances in anticipated transient accident conditions a relevant issue for design these systems. Within framework EUROfusion Work Package Blanket, it was performed thermal-hydraulic analysis during belonging to category “Decrease Coolant System Flow Rate”, using Reactor Excursion Leak Analysis Program (RELAP5) Mod3.3. BB, BZ Once Through Steam Generators FW Exchangers were included study.
